Zoey Li, McGill Nutrition alumna, named to Forbes 30 under 30
Congratulations to Mac alumna Zoey Li BSc(NutrSc)’17, who has been named to Forbes 2024 30 under 30 list in the food and drink category. This list honours the industry's brightest young entrepreneurs who are redefining the way we eat, drink and think about consumption.
In 2016, Zoey was part of the team who developed YUMiTRITION, a professional nutrition business offering a monthly subscription box and an interactive knowledge platform to provide continuous support, inspiration, and motivation for people with blood sugar control needs. Their diabetes support program used McGill School of Human Nutrition students to raise awareness in the Montreal community via social media and other online channels. Meanwhile, the YUMiBOX offered a monthly delivery of healthier carbohydrates to help manage blood sugar levels. Thanks to their creative approach, the YUMiTRITION team won first place in the 2016 Dobson Cup Entrepreneurship Competition in the small and medium enterprise track.
Years later, Zoey took this platform and turned it into Yumi Organics, a successful health food company whose overnight oats have inspired thousands of five-star reviews.
"What an incredible honour to be in Forbes 2024 class of 30 under 30 in Food and Beverage," Zoey said in a LinkedIn post celebrating the news. "None of it possible without the people and community that surrounded us. And the drive from our mission to build products that can positively impact consumers and innovate the space we’re in."
