War among COVID-19 variants playing out in Quebec - Montreal Gazette April 23, 2021
Dr. Mathieu Maheu-Giroux, Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health, is among the experts quoted by the Montreal Gazette.
"In Quebec, biological warfare is being waged among a handful of COVID-19 variants in an ongoing battle for supremacy. By the end of this month, the more transmissible new variants of the original strain of COVID-19 will have won, accounting for 91 per cent of all COVID-19 transmissions, according to estimates of the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ)."
