Professor Julie Côté reappointed as Chair of KPE

Professor Julie Côté will be re-appointed as Chair of the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education. Professor Côté has served as Chair of the Department since 2016 and will be serving her second three-year term, effective June 1, 2019.

Dr. Côté received her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the Physiology Department with the Université de Montréal, and her Master's in Science with the University of Wisconsin's Kinesiology Department.

Dr. Côté joined McGill and KPE as an Assistant Professor in 2003. She is currently the Director of the Department's Occupational Biomechanics and Ergonomics Lab (OBEL) and was the Faculty’s Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies from 2013-2016. Her research focuses on the biomechanics and motor control aspects of fatigue and pain, interventions to prevent work-related musculoskeletal disorders, and promoting workplace health for men and women. Dr. Côté is currently a CIHR chair in “Gender, Work & Health".
