Prof. Robert Mellin wins 2017 Newfoundland and Labrador Lieutenant Governor's Award in Architecture

On January 25, 2018 at Government House in St. John’s, Prof. Robert Mellin received a Lieutenant Governor’s award for his design of a private residence in Middle Arm, Newfoundland. This is a triennial event, celebrating outstanding contributions to the field of architecture and the built environment of Newfoundland and Labrador, and the award recognizes the important role architects and architecture have in building communities across the province. The jury consisted of six individuals from all corners of North America: Brent Linden, AIA and Principal of Allied Works Architecture in Portland, Oregon; Dr. Christopher Sharpe, retired Memorial University professor and geographer; Christine Macy, architect and Dean of the Dalhousie School of Architecture and Planning; Dean Brinton, CEO of The Rooms Corporation in St. John’s; Roxanne Button, AIA, Principal  of Design Synergies in Buffalo, New York; and Michael Cox, Principal of Michael J. Cox Architecture and President of the RAIC.
