The Consortium for Industrial Research and Innovation in Medical Technologies, MEDTEQ, and the Healthy Brains for Healthy Lives (HBHL) initiative of McGill University are pleased to announce a joint agreement that will harmonize the process of developing research and innovation projects related to medical technologies. This collaboration falls under the HBHL Neuro-Partnerships Program, which seeks to accelerate the commercialization of innovative medical technologies in neuroscience.

Joining forces to accelerate innovation

HBHL and MEDTEQ will work together towards research, innovation, and integration of new solutions in health services delivery. We will identify technologies with high potential for commercialization in partnership with Quebec-based private sector companies. Through this partnership, McGill researchers will benefit from MEDTEQ’s extensive network of industry partners, and companies will have access to some of the world’s most renowned researchers in neuroscience. Selected projects will be co-managed and may seek funding from both organizations.

"The interface between the brain and modern technology is one of the most exciting frontiers in today's world, with its potential to revolutionize the treatment of neurological disorders and enhance human performance in the workplace. The MEDTEQ-HBHL partnership positions Quebec at the leading edge of this revolution by bringing innovative ideas in brain research into the marketplace." – Dr. Alan Evans, Scientific Director, Healthy Brains for Healthy Lives.

“The complementary expertise of Healthy Brains for Healthy Lives and MEDTEQ will allow our organizations to support multidisciplinary teams and to accelerate the maturation and commercialization of innovations in medical technologies: a successful formula for research teams, industrial partners, health centers and ultimately the patient.” – Diane Côté, Chief Executive Officer, MEDTEQ.
