Published: 28 October 2020

The Faculty of Law is pleased to share that it has once again been ranked among the world’s top universities for studying law by the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings. The 2021 ranking by subject rated McGill the 16th-best school worldwide for studying law, up from 20th place last year. It marks the fourth consecutive year in the global Top 20 for McGill Law.

McGill University placed in the Top 100 worldwide in all 11 subjects ranked by THE. The Faculty of Law is the highest ranked unit at McGill across THE’s subject-matter rankings.

The THE’s Law ranking, introduced in 2017, is based on scores in five categories: teaching, research, citations, international outlook, and industry income.

“I’m thrilled to see McGill Law’s extraordinary, imaginative legal education recognized again this year in this global exercise,” said Dean Robert Leckey. “We are proud to be the home of some of the world’s best law professors and students, and to inspire legal leadership for global challenges.”
