MBAs champion social entrepreneurship and compete for $1 million

Published: 29 April 2013

A group of Desautels MBA students beat out over 40 teams and 10,000 applicants, including representatives from Harvard, MIT, and Yale, to win the 2013 Hult Prize Boston Regional Finals.

Read about their win in BusinessWeek.

With this year’s Hult Prize challenge centered on the global food crisis in urban slums, the team’s business plan involves growing crickets into a viable food source.

This September, they will compete against five other regional finalists in New York for the grand prize of $1,000,000 in start-up funding.

To be competitive, the team must raise $260,000 to further their research and business model. This is an exceptional opportunity for our students and our Faculty to demonstrate our prowess on the world stage.
