Hamza Ahmad, undergraduate student with our Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, won 2nd prize in the Psychology and Neuroscience category at the 2017 Faculty of Science Undergraduate Research Conference (URC). McGill judges had the arduous task of choosing the victors.
Hamza Ahmad, who is supervised by Professor Theodore Milner, received the prize for his project "Processing of somatosensory information by the central nervous system". Hamza is studying for his BSc degree in kinesiology, with a BEd (physical education) concentration.
The conference was held Thursday, October 26, and featured a keynote address by Professor Doina Precup, Canada Research Chair in Machine Learning, on the topic of artificial intelligence in the 21st century. The day culminated with a reception for students, friends, and alumni, where everyone celebrated the research accomplishments of undergraduate students at McGill.
