Date: Thursday, August 9th, 2018
Time: 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Location: James Administration Building, Room 301

The purpose of the FRQSC Research Support for New Academics program is to enable the completion of an individual research project; help support a new generation of researchers and university instructors by assisting new academics embarking upon their careers in establishing themselves as independent researchers and becoming competitive at the national and international levels; consolidate the research system by supporting up-and-coming research academics and incite new research academics who are beginning their careers to develop original research avenues.

Emerging researchers in social sciences and humanities, arts and literature who are planning to apply to the upcoming FRQSC Research Support for New Academics 2018 competition are encouraged to attend this information session, which will include:

  • A brief presentation about the objectives and application requirements of the FRQSC Research Support for New Academics Program by Maureen Donato and Joanna Mastalerek, Grants Officers, Social Sciences and Humanities;

  • A presentation from Prof. Eve-Marie Quintin (Faculty of Education) who will share her experience as a reviewer under  this program as well as insights and strategies for preparing a successful proposal;

  • question and answer period where participants will be encouraged to raise any questions they may have about the program or the application process.

    Those who are unable to attend or who may not feel comfortable sharing their questions are invited to send their inquiries to maureen.donato [at] (Maureen Donato) (ext. 2141) or Joanna Mastalerek (ext. 7300) in advance so that they may be included in the session.

*Please note that while the program website will only be updated in the beginning of July, the Notice of Intent form that is due on August 1st is already available on the FRQSC’s application platform FRQnet and the final deadline for this competition (September 27th) has already been announced.
