Faculty of Education appoints Professor Nancy Heath as Associate Dean, Research and Graduate Studies
The Faculty of Education is pleased to announce that Professor Nancy Heath has been appointed as the Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies, effective June 1st, 2017.
In this role Dr. Heath is charged with facilitating the ongoing development of successful research programs, and promoting the excellence of our graduate students by actively supporting and coordinating all facets of graduate academic life in the Faculty of Education.
Prof. Heath is a James McGill Professor in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology. Her DAIR research team explores resilience and adaptive functioning in young people at-risk. She has published and presented extensively on topics related to mental health and resilience in educational settings, is an internationally recognized leader in the area of self-injury in educational settings and has worked in collaboration with schools for more than 20 years. Dr. Heath is an associate member in the McGill Institute for Human Development and Well-Being (IHDW).
We wish to thank Prof. Anila Asghar for her work over the past year as the Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies. She is taking a sabbatical year while working on another PhD in neuroscience.
