Economics graduate Teresa Tolo selected as valedictorian for Black Grad 2022

As Teresa Tolo addressed Black Grad 2022 as valedictorian, she was overcome with emotion. The 4th annual edition of the event brought together a cohort of students who have excelled in a wide range of pursuits in academia and beyond. Tolo is graduating with a major in Economics and a double minor in International Development and Management, and credits the McGill experience and the city of Montreal with providing the space to become comfortable expressing her own convictions and unique personality. As she graduates, Tolo feels empowered to explore interests without fear of judgment – and encourages others to do likewise. After all, Tolo says, graduation is only the beginning, and the best is yet to come!
