Dr Ning-Zi Sun appointed Program Director, Internal Medicine Residency Training Program

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Ning-Zi Sun as the Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program, effective July 2020, for a 4-year term. Dr Sun is a member of the Attending Staff of the MUHC, Division of General Internal Medicine (GIM), and Assistant Professor in the McGill Department of Medicine.

Dr Sun trained at McGill for her MDCM, her internal medicine and GIM subspecialty, and obtained a Master’s of Health Professionals Education from Maastricht University in the Netherlands. She has held numerous roles in medical education since 2014, amongst others, Director of the GIM Clinics, RVH Site Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program and has been since 2016 and until recently Assistant Program Director of the Internal Medicine Training Program. Dr Sun is much appreciated for her thoughtful, meticulous and evidence-based approach to medical training. She is committed to delivering the highest standards of trainee experience.

Dr Sun will lead our many training partners in ensuring that we exceed accreditation standards, deliver on the Competence Based Design framework and establish/maintain best practices in postgraduate medical education.

Dr Sun is succeeding Dr Ahsan Alam who has served as Director of the Internal Medicine Training Program with distinction for the past 7 years. We wish to thank Dr Alam for his dedication, hard work and advocacy on behalf of our trainees. His empathic approach and leadership will be missed by many trainees and faculty in this role.
