Dr Natalie Dayan appointed Associate Chair, Wellness

In October 2020, Dr Natalie Dayan was appointed the newly created position of Associate Chair, Wellness, in the McGill Department of Medicine, effective November 1, 2020. In the role of Associate Chair, Dr Dayan will focus on enhancing “whole person” development within the Department of Medicine. This will include programming in the areas of physician wellness, equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI), leadership development and mentorship. The Associate Chair will work in close collaboration with McGill and partner institutions and will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a DOM Mentorship program that will ultimately ensure that all Faculty have mentors to guide them throughout the evolution of their careers. Dr Dayan is a clinician scientist who conducts both epidemiological and clinical research, with an emphasis on health outcomes related to whole person care in women during their reproductive years. Some of Dr Dayan’s goals include tracking burnout among faculty, a wellness needs assessment to identify targeted initiatives and interventions, and the development of a structured mentorship program focused on junior faculty.
