Published: 20 June 2023

Claude Crépeau, Professor in the School of Computer Science at McGill, has been named a co-recipient of the 2023 Edsger W. Dijkstra Prize in Distributed Computing. This award recognizes papers in the area of distributed computing that have made a significant and lasting impact in the field.

"Multiparty Unconditionally Secure Protocols," the 1988 paper by Crépeau, David Chaum, and Ivan Damgård, was one of three publications that received this year’s prize for “introducing information-theoretic secure multiparty computations and showing how to achieve maximal resilience to malicious adversaries while providing unconditional security.”
