Canada's third dose conundrum - CBC Radio, September 19, 2021

Published: 20 September 2021

Dr. Madhukar Pai, Professor at the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health and past McGill Global Health Programs Director, spoke with CBC Radio.

"Some Canadian provinces are already doling out third doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to immunocompromised groups and long term care residents. But before the rest of the country starts rolling up their sleeves for a third time, Dr. Madhukar Pai wants to see Canada commit to sending more vaccines to developing countries around the world, where vaccination rates are extremely low. The Canada Research Chair in Epidemiology and Global Health at Montreal's McGill University explains that if we don't fulfil our international obligations, Canada – and the rest of the world – will face a longer, deadlier pandemic."
