BCom100 Campaign will pave the way for future generations of students

Published: 18 October 2019

In 2021, McGill University will celebrate its 200th anniversary. To set the stage for another 200 years of impact, the University has launched its Made by McGill campaign with a goal to raise $2 billion.

Before McGill turns 200, the Desautels Faculty of Management will celebrate an exciting milestone in 2020: 100 years since our first class of Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) students graduated and went out into the world to leave their mark.

To celebrate 100 years of impact and lay a foundation for the next 100, Desautels is launching the BCom100 Campaign with the slogan “Made for Tomorrow.”

As part of Made by McGill, the BCom100 Campaign will call on the generosity and loyalty of our alumni to help us achieve three major objectives:

  • Increase access to the BCom program through scholarships and need-based bursaries;
  • Support students with enhanced academic and career advising, mental health and wellness initiatives, and hands-on learning experiences; and
  • Renovate our physical facilities, including the creation of a new student services hub.

The challenge set before us is formidable. Turning these goals into reality will require an intensive, multi-year commitment. In order to remain a launchpad for future generations of leaders, we will rally together today’s leaders, many of whom launched their own careers from McGill.

William Shatner (BCom’52), one of our most celebrated BCom alumni, generously donated his talent to narrating a short video reminding us why we are so proud of this program. Watch video
