Special guest speaker: Stephen Potter, Director of Agriculture and Food Systems, Global Affairs Canada

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Stephen Potter is an experienced international development specialist at Global Affairs Canada. He is currently Director of Agriculture and Food Systems, where he oversees Canada’s efforts to support global food security. In his twenty-five years with the Canadian Government, Stephen has served in Peru, Honduras, Tanzania, and Ukraine. In Ukraine, he led Canada’s efforts to scale up development assistance for reforms following the 2014 ‘Revolution of Dignity.’ More recently, Stephen coordinated the creation of Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy. Stephen has an MSc in International Rural Development Planning from the University of Guelph, and a BA in International Development from the same institution. He has three grown children and has recently taken up beekeeping.


This event is held in conjunction with the School of Continuing Studies and the Institute for the Study of International Development, McGill University.
