Join McGill's Muslim Law Students' Association and the Hans & Tamar Oppenheimer Chair in Public International Law as we discuss China's treatment of its Uyghur minority population.

We will discuss the political, social and economic implications of China's mass detention and abuse of Uyghurs within its Xinjiang province with:

  • Canadian MP Garett Genius (Sherwood Park—Fort Saskatchewan), who is sits on the House of Commons Special Committee on Canada-China Relations;
  • President of the East Turkistan Information Centre, Rukiye Turdush; and,
  • McGill law lecturer Me Jérôme Beaugrand-Champagne, who specializes in Chinese law.
