Student event: The WHO and Public Policy During a Pandemic

In the inaugural “Policy Disruptors” speaker series event hosted by the Public Policy Association of Graduate Students (PPAGS), Dr. Peter Singer will discuss his experience at the WHO and its pandemic policy response.

About the Speaker

Dr. Peter Singer is Special Advisor to the Director General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, and Assistant Director General of the World Health Organization. In this role he supports the Director General to transform WHO into an Organization sharply focused on impact at the country level. Before joining WHO, Dr. Singer co-founded and was Chief Executive Officer of Grand Challenges Canada from 2008-2018.

Dr. Singer has published over 300 articles, he studied internal medicine at University of Toronto, medical ethics at University of Chicago, public health at Yale University, and management at Harvard Business School. He also served his community as Board Chair of Branksome Hall.
