The Spiritual Side of Yoga Session 7

Join MORSL in exploring the spiritual side of yoga. Happening 6:00 -7:00 PM on Zoom Wednesdays for a total of 8 weeks, this class is informative, soothing and meditative, and suited for every body and all levels. Every session includes learning spiritual concepts from yogic traditions and plenty of time to put them into practice on the mat. Registration is required for each individual session.

The themes for each weekly session are as follows:

  1. Introduction

  2. Chakras: This session focuses on chakras, which are sensory landmarks of the body.

  3. Self-Inquiry: This session focuses on expanding the concept of self.

  4. Mudras and Mantras: This session focuses on engaging on a more subtle level.

  5. Pranayama: This session focuses on connecting to the root of life, our breath.

  6. Meditation: This session focuses on creating a contemplative practice, a way of going within.

  7. The 8 Limbs of Yoga: This session focuses on the 8 limbs of yoga, called the ashtanga system.

  8. Hope: This session focuses on hope and cultivating personal resilience.
