Secular Reading Circle
Have you been interested in joining a book club but have been put-off by lengthy reading lists and weekly time commitments? This Secular Reading Circle might just be for you!
In this online Secular Reading Circle, we will delve into poems by Canadian authors - many of whom were Montreal locals - and explore broad themes relating to life and spiritual questioning.
These sessions will be facilitated by Ashley Thorup, MORSL's Communications Associate. Ashley holds a B.A. Hons. and M.A. in English Literature from McGill University. She was also the recipient of a SSHRCC grant in 2019-2020 for her thesis on African-Canadian contemporary poetry.
This reading circle is open to all McGill students of any or no belief. You may attend one or several sessions. Please register for this session via this webform.
This week is focused on The African-Canadian Voice in the Poesy of George Elliott Clarke. This event is in conversation with Black History Month.
For all the readings, you can find them via the webform or at the Facebook event page.
