RGHNV : Discussion on Gabriel & Manzini’s paper on the ethics of advanced AI assistants

Friday, September 20, 2024 12:30to14:30
Leacock Building 855 rue Sherbrooke Ouest, Montreal, QC, H3A 2T7, CA

On September 20th, the Lin Centre Research Group on Human Nature and Values in the Digital Age (RGHNV) and Jarislowsky Chair in Human Nature and Technology will hold a group discussion on Gabriel & Manzini’s recent paper on the ethics of advanced AI assistants: https://deepmind.google/discover/blog/the-ethics-of-advanced-ai-assistants/.

The choice of article is partly informed by the fact that our planned one-day workshop for the Winter term will likely focus on issues related to AI, agency, and the ethics of AI assistants.

The session will be held in LEA 738 from 12:30-2:30 pm, and (vegan) lunch will be provided. Lunch will be provided only to those who confirm their attendance.

To confirm attendance, please write to Julia.houwen [at] mail.mcgill.ca
