Polishing Your Fellowship Application for Clarity and Concision F21

Wednesday, October 6, 2021 10:30to12:00
Polishing Your Fellowship Application for Clarity and Concision F21

One of the challenges of fellowship writing is how to use the space allotted to communicate clearly and concisely.  This hands-on workshop will provide participants with tips and practice on how to edit text without losing the integrity of their ideas.

Attendees will have the following opportunities during the session:

  • to learn tips and strategies for editing
  • to practice editing sample texts for concision and clarity
  • to apply one or two techniques to a short sample of their own work
  •

To make the workshop as productive as possible, please identify 2-4 paragraphs of your fellowship application that you would like to improve (draft version is fine).

This workshop will be led by Dr. Sarah Wolfson, a Course Lecturer at the McGill Writing Centre with ten years of experience teaching composition and academic writing.
