Partner event - From Awareness to Inclusion with Sherry Diamond

Friday, February 19, 2021 19:45to21:00

In support of Temple Emanu-El-Beth Sholom and JDAIM, we are pleased to co-host guest speaker Sherry Diamond during Jewish Disability Awareness and Inclusion Month (JDAIM).

Sherry Diamond is a professor, drama therapist and lawyer, and a fierce advocate for inter- and intra-cultural awareness. In her talk, she will focus on belonging because it is both the foundation of our diversity and inclusion efforts, and it is the desired outcome of those efforts. Diamond began working in the disabilities community at the age of 24, first as a teacher, then as a therapist, then as an administrator. The spaces she and her colleagues nurtured and developed were markedly different from most others, because they emphasized belonging. Diamond will explore how we can incorporate some of those principles into our daily practice of inclusion.

This event is open to all, no registration is required as it is part of Temple's regular Friday night worship service via Zoom
