Theodore DeWitt, Assistant Professor of Management, UMass Boston

Title of talk: Mapping the Task Structure of Work

Teddy DeWitt is an Assistant Professor of Management at UMass Boston, where he teaches strategic management and research methods. In his research, DeWitt explores how the underlying task structure of jobs has changed over the past two decades, and the effects that can have on transitions in the workplace. In this work, he uses natural language processing and other computational methods. He received his PhD from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, and his MBA and BA from Yale University. Before attending the University of Michigan, he worked for approximately a decade in financial services including stints as a financial analyst at Harvard University and Standard and Poor’s Ratings Services. (Re: S&P - He promises he had absolutely nothing to do with the financial crisis.) He lives in Cambridge, MA with his daughter Rory.
