Join us on November 29th as our excellent speaker provides an overview of the multinational medical technology company Medtronic. A company that thinks differently to solve problems, make progress, and deliver meaningful innovations.

- Richard Jonkers, PhD (Senior Reimbursement Project Manager, Medtronic)
Richard completed his education in Biomedical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands. He is the (co)author of 14 articles published in international, peer-reviewed journals, stemming from both his MSc thesis, which analyzed the effects of physical activity status on human skeletal muscle tissue characteristics, and his Ph.D., where he continued this research by expanding the focus to different models of insulin resistance in both pre-clinical and clinical studies. Upon completion of his Ph.D., Richard began working as a Clinical Research Specialist for the Endovascular Therapies division of Medtronic Bakken Research Center in Maastricht, the Netherlands (NLD). In 2013, he moved to Medtronic Canada, where he was the Medical Science Advisor in the Diabetes division, and now holds a position as Market Access & Reimbursement Program Manager in Canada.
The MedTech Talent Accelerator is a national training program to launch the next generation of industry-ready talent for the Canadian Medical Technology sector. The program is a collaboration between Toronto Metropolitan University (Formerly known as Ryerson), McGill, Dalhousie, University of Calgary, BioMedical Zone, MedTech Canada (the National Association of the Canadian Medical Technology Industries), and its member companies.
