MAA Germany Canada Day Celebrations in Rostock with the Deutsch-Kanadische Gesellschaft

The McGill Alumni Association in Germany and the Deutsch-Kanadische Gesellschaft (DKG) welcome you to celebrate Canada Day with fellow alumni and compatriots in Rostock, Germany!

Join us for a weekend of celebration including a get-together, a guided city tour, and a boat ride.

FRIDAY, JUNE 30 - EVENING

This activity is open to McGill alumni only.

A McGillian Get-Together

Location: Rostock (venue tbd)

Registration is required for alumni via this website.

SATURDAY, JULY 1

The below activities are open to all MAA and DKG members.

10:00a.m.- 12:30p.m.

Guided tour of the old Hanseatic City

Meeting point 10.00a.m. at the reception of the Radisson Blu Hotel.

Registration is required for McGill alumni via this website.

In cooperation with the DKG and carried out by the MAA Germany and alumnus Albrecht Kurbjuhn, BA'79. This city tour is free of charge and will be held in English. During the city tour there is an opportunity to enjoy the 360° view over Rostock from the viewing platform of the Petri church. The 360° viewing activity is optional with a cost of €4 that is paid in cash on site.

12.45 - 4.00p.m. 

Boat tour to Warnemünde (one way)

Carried out by the McGill Alumni Association with a departure from Am Strande, 18055 Rostock. The return journey back to the city will be by public transport (S-Bahn) or, depending on the number of participants, by bus shuttle. 

Boat tour cost: €15 (one way).

Return costs are approx. €5-10.

All costs for the boat tour and return transfer are payable independently on site.

DKG Ceremony The "Festakt" or Official Ceremony

Location: Radisson Blu Hotel in Rostock. 

Registration and payment is required directly with the DKG via their website.

Please note that participants are responsible for the cost of any activities, meals and hotel accommodations.

McGill University is not responsible for collecting or refunding any funds paid to the DKG for any events, nor for the collection or refunding of accommodation fees.

Any costs associated with alumni-only events are not pre-paid, and therefore not subject to refund.
