Let's Talk Science at McGill University, Research and Information Outreach Team (RIOT), and Goodman Cancer Research Student Society (GCSS) organizations would like to invite any classes or individual students who are interested in learning more from leading members in the field of cancer research.
This symposium is for participants in Sec 3-5 & Sec 5+ who are interested in learning about basic and clinical cancer research. The event will include a keynote speaker (Dr. Livia Garzia, Assistant Professor at McGill University), an interactive panel discussion, hands-on activities, and virtual tours of cancer research laboratories. During the panel discussion, the students will get a chance to interact with graduate students (MScs and PhDs), junior and senior scientists.
Let’s Talk Cancer symposiums provide your students with a unique opportunity to join a dialogue with local academic researchers about the most up-to-date understanding of cancer biology and how it can open new possibilities for treatment. As a participant in Let’s Talk Cancer, the students will step into the shoes of scientists and clinicians to understand how discoveries in the lab are leading to innovations in patient care. The students will have the opportunity to virtually tour research laboratories to see how experiments performed at the bench can be translated to clinical care.
