Join the Peter MacKell Chair on Federalism for a Constitutional Moment on the issues pertaining to the succession of the Crown in Canada, in collaboration with Université de Montréal’s Centre de recherche en droit public (CRDP).

The event will feature a panel of speakers which will explore questions related to the Motard c. Canada (Procureure générale) case, heard this winter at the Quebec Court of Appeal.

Professor Patrick Taillon, Professor of Constitutional Law, and Me Julien Fournier, doctoral student at Université Laval, will defend the argument according to which provinces must consent to modifications made to the rules pertaining to the royal succession.

Me Catherine Mathieu, doctoral student at McGill, will discuss the position defended by the Royal Heritage Trust.

The panel will be completed by Professor Mark D. Walters.
