A series of conferences on neurocognitive disorders presented by AVC-Aphasie Laval and McGill University

AVC-Aphasie Laval is proud to announce a partnership with the Dementia Education Program of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at McGill University. This collaboration aims to offer a series of free conferences on neurocognitive disorders.

These 45-minute lectures will be followed by a 15-minute question period. They are intended for both members of AVC-Aphasie Laval and the community. Offered in hybrid mode, it will be possible to attend via Zoom or to reserve a place on the organization's premises.

Please note that the conferences will be presented in English in the morning and in French in the afternoon.

Speaker: Paola Vitali, MD, PhD, FRCPC
11:00 a.m. in English, 1:30 p.m. in French

Dr. Paolo Vitali will speak about language difficulties we may encounter as we age, and explain how this differs for individuals with neurocognitive disorders. He will also discuss the potential impact of current research on treatment options.

Dr. Vitali is Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at McGill University. He is a board-certified neurologist and neuropsychologist at the McGill University Research Centre for Studies in Aging and at the CIUSSS Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal. Dr. Vitali’s research focuses on atypical patients with neurocognitive disorders who present with language disorders (Primary Progressive Aphasia).
