Grad Event: PRAXIS
The English Graduate Student Association (EGSA) is very excited to announce the launch of PRAXIS, a social knowledge and resource-sharing hub!
Taking place this winter 2024 semester, PRAXIS is a standing invitation to join fellow graduate students in the newly redesigned grad lounge every Wednesday from 10:00-12:00. There will be free coffee from Humble Lion provided, but bring your own mug! This open, drop-in style meeting time presents an opportunity for us to talk, share resources, and bring our research projects, ideas, and questions out of books and into the world.
Additionally, once per month, faculty members from the English department will lead informal workshops on some aspect of professional development, as it relates to working in academia. The complete schedule of faculty-led sessions is below:
- *January 9: Teaching Statements - Prof. Carmen Faye Mathes
- February 7: Job Talks - Prof. Amber Rose Johnson
- March 13: Syllabus Design - Prof. Eli MacLaren & Prof. Derek Nystrom
- *April 2: Applying Academic Knowledge to Creative Fields - Prof. Erin Hurley
*These sessions take place on Tuesdays.
