Monday, November 2, 2020 16:00to17:30
Price:
Free

Join us on November 2, 2020 from 4:00-5:30 pm EST as we welcome Sinead Hunt (Senior Equity and Inclusion Advisor), Cindy Mancuso (Coordinating Assessor) with McGill’s Office of the Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic) and Bianca Tétrault (Sexual Violence Education Advisor) with the Office for Sexual Violence Response, Support and Education, for an interactive virtual workshop on how to support someone impacted by sexual violence, harassment and related forms of discrimination. Participants will learn about McGill’s policies and reporting procedures related to harassment, discrimination, and sexual violence, and about the key components to providing trauma-informed support to someone who discloses. By using appropriate tools and approaches, participants are empowered to apply this new learning through group activities and case scenarios. The workshop will also explore key terms and discuss commonly held misconceptions about sexual violence that may affect one's ability to effectively respond to and support disclosures. In addition, participants will become familiar with the many different support resources available on and off campus that are available in the community.

This workshop will be conducted online via Zoom. Please let us know if you have any accessibility needs that we can accommodate!

Please note this workshop is for students only.
