Designing successful peer assessment assignments

Peer Assessment (PA) refers to students providing feedback on other students’ assignments to help them improve their work. This feedback may or may not involve a grade. While the learning benefits of PA have been well established, successful PA experiences hinge on the careful design of the PA activities students are asked to engage in. In this workshop, we address the principles that support sound design of PA activities. You will have the opportunity to reflect on these principles and begin to develop a PA assignment.

 When you leave this workshop, you will:

  1.  be familiar with best practices for implementing PA;
  2.  have a plan for implementing PA in one of your courses;
  3.  be aware of resources to support PA at McGill.
