Departmental Distinguished Grand Rounds

You are invited to the Departmental Distinguished Grand Rounds on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 12:00 pm. Please register.

This event will be held in-person at the Bowerman Room (Dobell Pavilion, Douglas Research Centre, 6875 LaSalle Boulevard, Montreal) and also available via Zoom. For those attending in-person, a light sandwich buffet will be served.

The lecture will be from 12:00 - 13:00, including Q&A. The following 30 minutes (13:00 – 13:30) will be dedicated to young trainees /residents who are particularly interested in Dr. Bassett’s research and carrier path.

Speaker: Dr. Anne S. Bassett, MD, FRCPC, Professor, Department of Psychiatry, University of Toronto

Title: Identifying a genetic subtype of schizophrenia that is clinically relevant for patients, families and psychiatrists

Learning Objectives:

  • List three treatable neuropsychiatric illnesses that commonly arise in adults born with a 22q11.2 deletion
  • List three advantages associated with making a molecular diagnosis of 22q11.2 deletion syndrome in adolescents and adults
  • Name the genetic test recommended for patients with schizophrenia and history of any developmental delay
