From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Tuesday, Oct. 8, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

Wondering if a career in translation is right for you? Join us for a free info session to learn more about our newly revised and updated Certificates in Translation – currently accepting applications for fall 2020.

Offered in three language pairs (French to English, English to French, English to Spanish) and taught by active industry practitioners, this innovative program has been designed to prepare you for a rewarding career as an in-house or freelance translator – in as quickly as two years!

During this session, we’ll explore the following topics:

  • Our hands-on approach to helping you acquire the tools and techniques you need to get ahead in the industry
  • Program structure (part-time/evenings)
  • Recent changes to the curriculum, in line with marketplace trends
  • Admission requirements and tuition fees
  • Entrance exam conditions and dates


We'll also be exploring and answering questions about:

  • What it takes to be a successful language professional
  • The areas where demand for professionally trained translators is highest
  • Job prospects for the language industry in Canada and worldwide
  • Working conditions and advancement opportunities
