Faculty Lecturer Anita Nowak launches debut book on empathy:

Purposeful empathy: tapping our hidden superpower for personal, organizational and social change

In the face of climate change, social inequalities, a mental health crisis, geopolitical threats and rapidly advancing technologies, empathy has never been more important to democracy and the future of humanity. Anita Nowak (BCom'97, PhD'11), a decade-long lecturer at McGill Desautels and past Fellow of the International Women’s Forum, will be launching her debut book “Purposeful Empathy: Tapping Our Hidden Superpower for Personal, Organizational, and Social Change” on Wednesday, April 19, at McGill Faculty Club. The event will be emceed by Debra Arbec, award-winning host of CBC Montreal News at 6, and will include opening remarks from Dr. Thupten Jinpa Langri, English translator to His Holiness the Dalai Lama since 1985, founder and chairman of the Compassion Institute and chairman of the Mind & Life Institute.
