 Decentralization, Trust, and Ethics

When most people hear the word “blockchain” they invariably think of Cryptocurrencies. While the latter couldn’t exist without the former, blockchain technology has many more applications beyond being the backbone of Bitcoin. This Webinar will cover the basics of how blockchain functions, discussing its decentralized network structure, how it allows different actors on the same platform to trust one another with their respective transactions, as well as current and future uses of this technology in the financial services industry, supply chain logistics, video games, and medical health records, among many others.

Learning Outcomes:

• Learn what blockchain is and how it functions.
• Familiarize yourself with current and future applications of blockchain technology.

IMPORTANT: Students must register with their official McGill email address in order for the registration to be valid.
