April Deadline: McCall MacBain Graduate Scholarship at Wadham College, University of Oxford

The John McCall MacBain Scholarship is a scholarship for McGill graduates to undertake a degree at the master’s or doctoral level offered by Wadham College at the University of Oxford.

This scholarship was established by friends of John McCall MacBain in his honour to support talented McGill graduates of strong character with leadership potential to improve the lives of others.

The award is valued at up to GBP 40,000 – 50,000 per year for the regular duration of the graduate course taken full-time. (Note that the actual amount will be determined by the McCall MacBain Foundation each year and will be based on the cost of tuition and fees for the particular course of study and Wadham College’s fees, including fees for room and board in College accommodation.)

Applicants must apply (January deadline) and be admitted to the University of Oxford in a graduate program that is offered at Wadham College.

Selection and Renewal Criteria

  • Students will be selected on the basis of their character, community leadership, and academic excellence and will have their award renewed on the basis of the same

*Note that applications to and acceptances at the University of Oxford are independent from the application to the John McCall MacBain Graduate Scholarship.

Timeline to Apply
1. January 2023: Apply to a graduate course offered by Wadham College at

2. Early April 2023: Apply online for the John McCall MacBain Graduate
Scholarship
3. May 2023: Participate in full-day interviews
4. Fall 2023: Begin studies at Wadham College, Oxford
