ABCs of the PhD: Importance of Conferences and Publications Session

Do you want to build your academic and career profile? Please join us at our student-led Graduate workshop on the importance of attending and presenting at Conference and Publications on your Academic and Career Profile.

  • We will discuss why you need to attend and present at conferences.

  • Why you need those publications

  • How to connect conference presentations and publications and;

  • Available opportunities at McGill that you can use to present and roll out some publications

  • We will have a hands-on session on writing an effective abstract led by our own McGill writing center experts. We encourage you to bring any abstract you have already started on or just and idea of what you want to work on.

*Note: Please come with your laptop computer/ papers to write.

When: Tuesday October 3rd 2017, 10:30 pm - 12:00 noon
Where: Tassone Teaching Laboratory (Room 304) in the Currie Gymnasium, 475 Pine Avenue West.

ABCs of the PhD is a free professional seminar series run by graduate students for graduate students. It is sponsored by the Faculty of Education and focuses on the concerns of Education students, but all McGill graduate students are welcome to attend.
