Welcome incoming MLIS students!
The MLIS Introduction Program is designed to acquaint all incoming Master of Library & Information Studies students with the many-faceted world of information and the forward-looking leadership of the library and information professions.
The program takes place prior to classes and introduces students to the field of information studies, the MLIS program, the School and Faculty, and IT at McGill. Students also have the opportunity to meet with faculty advisors and 2nd year students.

Congratulations to Dr. Catherine Guastavino on her 5-year NSERC (Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada) Discovery Grant for research on auditory motion perception.
School of Information Studies alumna and Education Liaison Librarian Maya Kucij (MLIS '08) has been awarded the McGill Library's 2013 Librarian Excellence Award. The award recognizes a McGill librarian who has demonstrated excellence in academic librarianship and has shown efforts to improve library services through innovative practice, initiative and resourcefulness.

Recent School of Information Studies PhD graduates Guillaume Boutard and Amandine Pras have been awarded two-year FQRSC post-doctoral fellowships.
Guillaume will be continuing his research at Université de Montréal and Amandine at Columbia University. Congratulations Guillaume & Amandine!
