Three seniors from the McGill University Martlets were selected in the Canadian Women's Hockey League draft on July 18. Goaltender Charline Labonté was taken in the first-round by the Montreal Stars, while forward Ann-Sophie Bettez went in the second round, also to the Stars, and centre Jordanna Peroff was a fifth-round pick by the Toronto Furies.
Ann-Sophie Bettez of Sept-Iles, Que., and Marc-André Dorion of St. Hubert, Que., both hockey players from McGill, are among eight national finalists announced Wednesday for the 20th Annual BLG Awards gala, established in 1993 to recognize the top female and male athletes from universities affiliated with the CIS.
