On Oct. 2, Marie-Gil Fabris, a 2nd-year Management student, played hooky from school, but instead of sleeping in, going to a movie or just hanging out with friends, Fabris rolled up her sleeves in the kitchen of the Benedict Labre House, a resource centre for homeless people.

From September 29 to October 9, workshops and volunteering opportunities were hosted by forty different organizations based throughout the Montreal community, with the majority of events happening on October 2.

Community Engagement Day is a new project from SEDE that aims to celebrate and recognize community engagement efforts connecting McGill to Montreal community groups and organizations. The project is not intended as a one-off event; rather, it’s meant to serve as an entry point and celebration of a broader culture of community engagement at McGill.
The 2nd annual McGill University Awards for Equity and Community Building were handed out on April 24.

Registration for the event ends on October 3rd at noon.
