Dr. Lisa Trimble, of our Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE), was interviewed this week by Breakfast Television and Radio Canada International regarding Quebec’s new "no exemption" sex education pilot project.
During the month of September McGill will host the 14th Annual Pow-Wow (September 18) and the 5th annual Indigenous Awareness Week (September 21-25). McGill University’s Indigenous Awareness Week is designed to increase awareness at McGill about Indigenous peoples in Canada. The week honours the many Indigenous cultures across the country including First Nations, Métis and Inuit.

After being named Canada's top female athlete two years in a row, young Quebec tennis star Eugenie Bouchard has lost 13 of her last 15 matches. Dr. Gordon Bloom of our Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, Director of the McGill Sports Psychology Research Laboratory, was interviewed by the Montreal Gazette to help resolve questions brought to light by her recent disappointments.

School of Information Studies alumna & McGill Librarian April Colosimo awarded Librarian Excellence Award
McGill School of Information Studies alumna April Colosimo (MLIS '05), Liaison Librarian at the Schulich Library of Science and Engineering, has been awarded the McGill Library's 2015 Librarian Excellence Award.
The award recognizes a McGill librarian who has demonstrated excellence in academic librarianship and has shown efforts to improve library services through innovative practice, initiative and resourcefulness.

CALGARY, Alta. -- Hockey Canada announced Wednesday that Jamie Kompon (BEd (PE) 1989), a McGill University graduate from Thunder Bay, Ont., is among three head coaches named to lead the three Canadian teams at the 2015 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in August.
