Professor Bob Hebdon (Industrial Relations) awarded SSHRC grant, and Industrial Relations Research Association accepts his workshop on privatization
Prof. Hebdon recently was awarded a three-year Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council grant to study workplace conflict in Canada. This research will build on his earlier work on conflict and will be performed with Prof. Jean-Guy Bergeron of Université de Montréal. Prof. Hebdon's proposal for a workshop on privatization was accepted by the Program Committee of the 57th Annual Meeting of the Industrial Relations Research Association, to be held in Philadelphia in January of 2005.
At the 15th annual Networking Dinner, with this year's theme "Rare Pearls," the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal paid tribute to 33 exceptional and authentic women from various sectors of activity who have distinguished themselves through their commitment and exceptional accomplishments. The prestigious annual event took place at the Hilton Montreal Bonaventure Hotel on Thursday, June 5, 2003. Dr. Adler was selected as one of the rare pearls amongst the 33 who were paid tribute to during this event.
The Faculty of Management at McGill University is proud to announce that Massimo Fiore, an MBA who is graduating this month, has been awarded a $10,000 award by the Association des MBA du Québec, in collaboration with the Fédération des Caisses populaires Desjardins.
John Dobson and Paul Desmarais Jr. were awarded James McGill statues by Dean Ross at a cocktail reception on November 3, 2003, in recognition of their outstanding support of the Faculty of Management. Numerous alumni and friends gathered for the event.
Thanks to the numerous supporters, this novel fundraising event held by McGill MBA students for Santropol Roulant raised over $1,000 in less than three hours.
Professor Peter Christoffersen wins award from the International Journal of Accounting and the KPMG & University of Illinois Business Measurement Research Program
The award was one of six given through a competition for papers on financial risk management and disclosure. A panel of reviewers from academia and KPMG evaluated submitted papers based on contribution and the quality of the research.
Lioudmila Krassiouk is the winner of the Dean's Medal for Great Distinction in the MBA Program. This medal is awarded to the graduating student with the highest overall average in MBA II. On behalf of the Faculty of Management and the MBA Office, we congratulate Lioudmila on her outstanding achievement.
Professor Mark Mortensen receives prestigious William H. Newman Award at Academy of Management Conference
At the 2004 Academy of Management Conference, Professor Mark Mortensen received the prestigious conference-wide William H. Newman Award for single-authored papers based on a dissertation.
A 26-member contingent of current and former McGill University students will be taking part at the Summer Olympic Games in Athens.
