MUHC part of successful organ donation team

A Quebec team of hospitals, including the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC), was recently rated the top 12 at increasing the organ donation rate. This is a first for the Quebec team and for Canada.

Dr. Seang Lin Tan and his team at the McGill University Health Centre have developed a non-invasive procedure to permit women to preserve their fertility even after chemotherapy, and early results are promising.

McGill torch song

Heather Munroe-Blum was among the many notable Montrealers to carry the Olympic torch through Montreal streets on June 20. Munroe-Blum, McGill's principal and vice-chancellor, was invited to take part in the pomp and pageantry of the world's biggest amateur sporting event here in Montreal. The 2004 Olympic Games are set to unfold in Greece next August. The local leg of the Olympic Torch Relay was organized by the City of Montreal, the Canadian Olympic Committee and various commercial partners.

Unique Inuksuit are unveiled by the Montreal Children's Hospital

The Montreal Children's Hospital of the McGill University Health Centre is now home to a pair of very unique Inuksuit, Inuit statues made of stone. The Inuksuit, representing a parent and child, were unveiled on National Aboriginal Day, June 21.
