On Thursday, at around 11:30 am, we encountered a problem with some of our network switches, which are connected to several central servers. When the switches were rebooted, connectivity to the servers was lost, and this may have prevented some users from accessing their emails and network files. The servers and their associated services were restored to normal by 12:15 pm. We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced.
Prof. Catherine Guastavino of the School of Information Studies has been appointed Associate Director (Scientific Research) at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Music Media and Technology (CIRMMT), and an Associate Member of the Schulich School of Music.
Professor Jamshid Beheshti of the School of Information Studies has been named interim dean of the Faculty of Education for a term commencing September 17, 2007, until May 31, 2008. The former Dean, with whom Prof. Beheshti was serving as Associate Dean (Administration), has taken up a new position at the University of London.

Due to a fire yesterday evening, September 24, there is currently no electrical power in either the Currie Gymnasium or the Tomlinson Fieldhouse. These buildings are therefore closed until power is fully restored. Until then, all classes and other activities scheduled for these facilities are cancelled. We anticipate a resumption of electricity to these buildings in the next day or two. Please monitor this space and we will update it as new information becomes available.
