I am delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Isabelle Bajeux-Besnainou as the next Dean of the Desautels Faculty of Management, beginning 1 January 2016.

Prof. Bajeux-Besnainou’s appointment was made Tuesday, 28 April 2015 by McGill’s Board of Governors, following the recommendation of a committee that conducted an international search for top candidates.

Focus means concentrated attention. It refers to conscious and intentional actions by a person to achieve a particular objective. One needs discipline to overcome tendencies to deviate. It is easier said than done with regard to maintaining focus.

Green Chemistry Trivia Night

The McGill Green Chemistry Student Association hosted a Green Chemistry Trivia Night on Mar 20 2015 at Thompson House. The association was formed by CREATE trainees following a CREATE seminar on How to Start Your Own Student-Led Green Chemistry Initiative by Laura Reyes (U. of T.) last August. The Trivia Night was a resounding success, with over 60 participants attending. The Faculty/Staff team included CREATE members CJ Li, Tomislav Friscic, and Audrey Moores, CREATE coordinator Jacky Farrell, and CREATE outreach member Alex Wabha.

Dear Colleagues,

It is with much sadness that I communicate the passing of our esteemed colleague Frank Ervin last Friday in St Kitts. Frank was a pioneer clinician scientist, a visionary researcher, and an engaged social activist. Frank influenced the life and career of many of us. He was an excellent mentor and a source of inspiration.
