This talk closes off a weeklong series of MMEP management and executive committee meetings at McGill, which brought together civil society leaders from across the Middle East. Philosopher Sari Nusseibeh was the PLO's chief representative in Jerusalem from 2001-2002, in which role he advocated a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict. He is president of and a professor at Al-Quds University, the Arab University of Jerusalem. He was educated at Oxford and Harvard and was a Radcliffe Institute Fellow at Harvard in 2004-05. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the McGill Middle East Program in Civil Society and Peace Building and is the author of two previous books.
