Trying to beat the odds of stroke

Every hour counts for stroke victims. The sooner they get to hospital, the better their outcome. The McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) and Urgences Santé announced today a new initiative to get stroke victims to the hospital and treated as fast as possible.

McGill torch song

Heather Munroe-Blum was among the many notable Montrealers to carry the Olympic torch through Montreal streets on June 20. Munroe-Blum, McGill's principal and vice-chancellor, was invited to take part in the pomp and pageantry of the world's biggest amateur sporting event here in Montreal. The 2004 Olympic Games are set to unfold in Greece next August. The local leg of the Olympic Torch Relay was organized by the City of Montreal, the Canadian Olympic Committee and various commercial partners.

Unique Inuksuit are unveiled by the Montreal Children's Hospital

The Montreal Children's Hospital of the McGill University Health Centre is now home to a pair of very unique Inuksuit, Inuit statues made of stone. The Inuksuit, representing a parent and child, were unveiled on National Aboriginal Day, June 21.
