International Conference on Primary Health Care and Health Systems in Africa

The WHO Regional Office for Africa is organizing this conference in collaboration with UNICEF, UNFPA, UNAIDS, World Bank, African Development Bank and other development partners. Hosted by the government of Burkina Faso, the conference will be the first of its kind to take place in Africa. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Alma Ata Declaration on Primary Health Care.

2008 Jessup Moot

On March 6-9, McGill Law students Damian Hornich, Balkees Jarrah, Elizabeth Neelin-Robinson and Sybil Thompson took part in the Canadian Rounds of the Jessup International Mooting Competition, which was held this year in Saskatoon. Our mooters secured prizes for their advocacy skills, with Balkees ranking as the 2nd top oralist and Damian as 4th among 60 participants. Bravo!

Mr. Justice Morris Fish receives F.R. Scott Award

At a celebration held in the Atrium, the Hon. Mr. Justice Morris Fish (BA, BCL, LLD) of the Supreme Court of Canada was presented with the F.R. Scott Award for Distinguished Contribution by the alumni of the Faculty of Law. This award was created by the Faculty advisory board to honour graduates who have contributed in a significant way to law and to the life of the Faculty.
